Have you done any designs that capture rain water that can be reused for dish washing toilet flushing etc? Have you designed the same roof structures support solar panels for powering the home.
There are a number of technologies that can be utilized to add solar water heating, photovoltaics, wind turbines and water reclamation to many of the concepts and projects on this site (see STAC-HAUS and ECO-CARGO as examples). Of more concern is the local regulations and governmental support, allowing such technologies in residential areas. I am in full support of these off-the-grid alternatives and look for any opportunity to employ them.
