A good way to estimate the building cost is by the square foot. This price will be different every where in the world (depending on the construction industry, labour costs and material resources in your area). We built our home for $180 per sq. ft. As this building was a prototype build, I think a lower number could be achieved. Depending on the building's size, your choice of finishes and sustainable/green options ... the cost (locally) could easily be as affordable as $125 per sq. ft. or less. This is comparable with "spec quality" homes pricing, but gives you a custom design and a kinder environmental footprint by reusing containers.

I'm so in love with these designs. They're unique, beautiful, environmentally friendly, and totally affordable for the average person. Is it possible to put a living roof on any of the designs? Dream house would be made from repurposed material with a living roof, solar or wind power and a gray water system. Perfect. Thank you for sharing your ideas.
